S-1 Arts & Appreciation

Service Description

Please send a basic drawing journal with your student every day to class. All other supplies are included in this class. Learning through fun is at the heart of our Arts & Appreciation Class. Your child will thrive in our gently-lead classroom where students learn to work with various tools, and multiple mediums to refine artistic concepts while using their imagination, exploration of art supplies and ideas, and of course, have fun! Topics covered in class are: Drawing and painting forms, nature, humans, animals, shading, and blending techniques using a variety of art mediums. Using scissors, glue, paint, and supplies with control and care. Learning about different artists and cultures and how they impact the art world we see today. Using clay processes of pushing, pulling, rolling, rubbing, squeezing, and assembly. Using and combining techniques of working with paper and paper mache. Use and care for art tools in the classroom. Most importantly, your child will have a great time, make friends, explore their creative side, and work on growing their artistic skills that they will carry with them through their artistic journey. In each of our art classes, we create a respectful and caring space while we learn about the elements of art and principles of design, we use artistic language and learn about proper supply usage and how to take care of our creative space. 15 Weeks.
